Steven Hills is a well-rounded and highly accomplished professional with over two decades of experience in politics, policy and the media. His accomplishments include serving as a policy director at the Center for Humane Technology and as a Holtzbrinck fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. Spencer Westlake
Having served as a member of many different committees and boards, it’s no surprise that Spencer Westlake – Senior Advisor – Canadian Sport Institute Pacific has become one of Canada’s most recognized sports business leaders. He has worked in sports business as an athlete, coach, and executive for over two decades. He is now working on developing a national strategic initiative to increase the number of covered tennis courts across the country.
Westlake, who was born with bilateral below-knee amputations, made his Paralympic Games debut in 2003. Since then, he has been a part of five Paralympic Games, eight IPC World Championships, and has been awarded four Paralympic medals. His career also includes serving as a reporter for the CBC at the Parapan American Games in Toronto, and working as a reporter at the Parapan American Games in Rio.

Prior to his current position, he held various senior executive positions at Canada Goose and Innovation Lab. He is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association and has been invited to lecture on topics related to the business of sport at various law schools across the country.
He has also taught a course on the Business of Sport at the Management Institute of New York University. Currently, he is a regular speaker at the ABA Forum on Entertainment and Sports and Berkeley Law Sports Law Symposium. He has also served as a panelist at the TRAC Conference and the Sports Law Association’s annual Sports Law Symposium.
